UCR Overnight Transfer Experience 2024

Summer 2024

Tuesday-Thursday July 9-11, 2024

Application Submission Deadline - Thursday, May 9th at 11:59pm

The UCR Summer Transfer Experience is designed for students thinking about transferring or who may be transferring soon and want to learn more about UCR or the UCR transfer process. If you are interested in participating, you are encouraged to apply.

Requirements to be considered: (This applies to all students)

Students wishing to participate must currently be in good standing with Chaffey College
Interested or considering transferring to UCR or a UC campus (not yet accepted to UCR)
2.40 GPA or better (special consideration for 2.40 GPA or less)
Must commit to a two night stay at UCR (Must travel to and from UCR with the group)
Selected students will be required to attend a MANDATORY in-person/virtual orientation scheduled on 6/20/24 or 6/27/24.

Requirements to be considered if you are a participant of EOPS, NextUp, Independent Scholars, EOPS Scholars, CalWORKs, CARE, Undocumented Students and/or the Summer Readiness Program:

If you are participating in EOPS, NextUp, Independent Scholars, EOPS Scholars, CalWORKs, CARE, Undocumented Students and/or the Summer Readiness Program you must be in good standing with the program(s) you are participating in.
Must commit to a two night stay at UCR (Must travel to and from UCR with the group)
- No shows/adjustments to your availability to participate on this experience under 48 hours of the commencement of the experience will negatively impact your program standing (Program warning letter and ineligibility of program incentives).
Selected students will be required to attend a MANDATORY in-person/virtual orientation scheduled on 6/20/24 or 6/27/24.

All applications and personal statements must be submitted by no later than Thursday, May 9th at 11:59pm.

Students will be notified by Friday, May 17th 2024 if they have been accepted or denied. (Date subject to change based on programmatic need. Any changes will be communicated in a timely manner.)

Selected students must attend a mandatory orientation that will be held between June 20th and June 27th. Failure to attend will forfeit your spot on the experience. As a reminder, students must be in good standing with EOPS or CalWORKs and Chaffey College. (Good standing means that as an EOPS student, you are completing your EOPS mandatory appointments (for CalWORKs students means that you are meeting with your CalWORKs counselor) and that you are making progress by passing classes) (Good standing with Chaffey College means you have no behavioral code violations that may impact your college eligibility).

*The Orientation timeframe is subject to change. Students who have been accepted to participate will be notified through email of any changes in a timely manner.

The EOPS and Transfer Offices will be working with UCR staff members to facilitate reasonable accommodations that you might need. We may not be able to best accommodate you if not given proper notification. If selected for the experience you will need email alex.rodriguez@chaffey.edu no later than June 12th if an accommodation is needed.
